DR. STEPHAN KAMHOLZ

Dr. Kamholz was an integral part of the clinical leadership team and the Maimonides family. He was renowned as a gifted teacher and writer, and as a brilliant and encyclopedic clinician. Colleagues, students, and friends can readily recall his warm smile, and the characteristic wit, knowledge, intellect, and kind spirit which infused so many special moments with him. Dr. Kamholz led the Department of Medicine with skill and care, fostering a collegial culture in which attending physicians, staff, students, residents, and emerging leaders thrived. He oversaw operational improvements with meticulous attention to detail while reinvigorating and raising the profile of the departments’ teaching programs. His daughter shared, “He was teaching up until his last breath.”

ARTIST - STEPHEN GARDNER: For as long as I can remember, I have loved to draw. This passion led me to art school in Cornwall, England, where I learned to become a professional illustrator. To my surprise, I have now been one for more than 30 years.
