“I think she found fulfillment in being able to serve,” Her son Ginu said. “She was able to hold people’s hands, you know, even when they were deteriorating and be there for them.” She began her career as a nurse in India 45 years ago; she and her husband immigrated to the United Arab Emirates, where their two sons were born, and moved to New York in 2002.
LYNNE ST. CLARE FOSTER lives and works in New York City. She holds a BFA from Pratt and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. “Choosing the portrait as the psychological symbol throughout my body of work, my goal is for the audience to view each image as a way to reveal layers of concealment. Her illustrations are published monthly in The Indypendent, a political newspaper and was included in “Artists Against the War.In 2011 she participated with other photographers documenting Cuban life, culminating in 2 shows, “Cuba- the Remainders” and “Art and Protest”.
