KIOUS KELLY
Asst Nurse Manager, Emergency Room, Mount Sinai West Hospital, New York, NY
“Assistant Nurse Manager Kious Jordan Kelly, RN, showed my mom and us empathy and compassion that helped us get through the weekend and what was to come,” a man named Joseph Fuoco had written to the hospital’s president. “He went above and beyond.” He was born in Chicago and grew up in Lansing, Michigan. He moved to New York sometime after earning a bachelor’s degree in performing arts and dance at Butler University in Indianapolis in 1993. He hoped to pursue a dance career. But, as with many who come to New York with show business aspirations, that ambition fell by the wayside, and Mr. Kelly went to nursing school. He graduated from the nursing program at New York University in 2012.
ARTIST - GEORGIA ARGYROPOULOS is an impressionist and is motivated by how the effect of light hitting a scene can evoke an emotion or a reaction in the viewer. Light and its flip-side is a metaphor for her "darkside" which she won't elaborate on. She is only truly happy in the hedonistic pursuit and sensory indulgence that is art, "the light at the end of the tunnel" in her words.
