LOIS ANN ASHCRAFT-MERRELL

Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Pine Bluff, AR

Born in Pine Bluff AR at Jefferson Hospital, she was the only daughter and youngest child of Mrs. Ann Moran Ashcraft and the late John Robert Ashcraft of the Sulphur Springs community. She graduated from Ashdown High School in 1981. Lois later graduated from the Jefferson School of Nursing in 1994 and was a Registered Nurse at the JRMC Professional Building She was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.

ARTIST - MERRILYN DUZY is a Los-Angeles-based artist, teacher, lecturer, curator and historian. She received her MFA from Otis Art Institute. Ms. Duzy has exhibited and lectured in diverse venues around the world. As a curator and historian, she has worked to bring forth the historically overlooked work of women artists. Her media are oils, pastels, encaustics, and mixed media. Ms. Duzy is a member of pastel societies, the Southern California Women’s Caucus for art, California Art Club and Group Nine, a collaborative artmaking group, among others.
